We met Christine, a member of a weaving cooperative in rural South Eastern Kenya during our trip to Kenya, in the Summer of 2015. Amazed at her skills, we instantly fell in love with these two baskets and bought them (and many others!) from the group.

In June 2015, The Basket Room ventured off-road, to visit three weaving cooperatives, with the hope of working closely with the women & establishing a long,working partnership. South-West of Nairobi, amongst the pineapple fields and hills, scattered villages are joined together by a very dusty & bumpy track.
